In 2010-11, I enlisted fifty friends and family to help me create a pilot for an idea I called A Little History Project. You can see the pilot video and read about the background to the project here.
If A Little History Project is ever fully realised, each chapter of E.H. Gombrich’s book A Little History Of The World would be transformed into an animated video made up of drawings from hundreds of people from around the world, and the videos would be assembled into an interactive iPad app.
Inspired by Aaron Koblin’s Johnny Cash Project, the app would enable you to contribute drawings for each of the forty chapters, and to filter and compare illustrations according to age and geography (when it comes to the War of Independence, how do American illustrations differ from British ones?, for example).
In mid-2011 I wrote to the publishers of A Little History Of The Wold, explaining the idea and linking to the pilot video. I still have my fingers crossed!
